Tracey A. Plata is the founder of Solara Law Group, where she helps individuals and families navigate important legal transitions with compassion, integrity, and practical guidance. Her practice focuses on family law, including divorce, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, and related domestic relations matters, as well as wills, trusts, and estate planning.

Before becoming an attorney, Tracey spent more than a decade as a school counselor and special education teacher, advocating for children and families. Her experience continues to shape her approach to law, bringing empathy, patience, and a deep understanding of the human side of family and legal matters.

Since being admitted to the Colorado Bar in 2019, Tracey has represented clients in family law, criminal defense, and complex litigation involving pharmaceutical, financial, and antitrust matters. Her broader legal and public-interest experience includes work with the Federal Communications Commission's Disability Rights Office, the Center for Public Interest Law, and legal aid programs providing pro bono assistance to individuals and families.

Tracey earned her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law, along with two Master of Education degrees in Counseling and Curriculum & Instruction with an emphasis in Special Education. She also earned her Bachelor of Science, graduating cum laude. She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Southern Colorado Bar Association, and American Bar Association, and is fluent in Spanish.
